ou had to have a psychologist's referral for hormones and surgery. So at 20, I went to a psychologist to get started. He told me I had an obsession, like an addiction, and the first step was for me to abstain... Now I'm 38 and I realize he was wrong. But
hat is after many, many years of severe depression, denial, and alcoholism. I eventually attempted suicide. Now, thanks to the info on the web, I understand that I don't have to be ashamed of my so-called "obsession" any more. I can find another therapist
one who is experienced with this sort of thing. But as a result of all those years of misery, I am broke and unemployed. I have asked the Missouri Dept. of Vocational Rehabilitation to fund my transition, since they claim to provide medical services when
necessary. Hey - it's a birth defect that destroys lives, right? So if they deny me services, I guess I have a legal battle on my hands, and a highly political one at that. What should I do?
